Walter Mitty: Read it before you see it (with free mp3)

I’ll say this about the new Ben Stiller project “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”: it’s beautiful to watch. The marriage of the video and music is perfect … so while the movie could be crap, these two minutes are Heaven.

It does make me ask, though: how many more movies will Ben Stiller be in where inanimate objects come to life?

Anyway, before you see the movie, you should check out the James Thurber story it’s based on. First published in 1939 by The New Yorker (and, if you want to register, you can see/print the original story), The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is a classic many of us were too lazy to read in high school.

Or you can view online versions here or here.

And, of course, what better way to complete your experience than by downloading for free and listening to the song, “Dirty Paws” by Of Monsters and Men?

So read the story, listen to the music and get lost in your own Mitty adventure …
