Good news, bad news: Freegal

The good news is that using your library card to access Freegal means you can legally download free music you actually like, from bands you’ve heard of before.

The bad news is that you only get three downloads a week … which means it takes about a month to download a whole album, like, say MxPx’s latest, Plans Within Plans. A whole freaking month.

So good news: Free stuff. Bad news: Patience required.

But is that really bad news? Is it bad that I have to practice waiting? Is it bad to feel the rush of a week go by and the rising anticipation of a new week of downloading? It’s like getting a weekly allowance again. So, really, is it the bad news really that bad?

Answer: yes, yes it is. But that’s OK.

Anyone else ever used Freegal?
