From the “Too Much Time on My Hands” Dept.: A family tree

From the “Too Much Time on my Hands” Department, there’s this.

After watching too much children’s TV, it seems obvious that Jimmy Neutron and Phineas Flynn-Fletcher are somehow related. They’re both smart, creative, and have a love for odd pets.

The question is: how are they related? Here’s an answer.

The key is the similar genetic dispositions of the mothers (not just their similar hair color). Now, if Judy and Linda are sisters, who’s their mother? While the go-to choice may be Scooby Doo’s Daphne, Linda’s musical pedigree (she did have a pop hit in the 80s, after all) suggests Josie, from Josie and the Pussycats. Jonny Quest‘s intelligence and adventurous spirit DNA can also be seen in his progeny.

Both Jonny and Josie would have been born in the mid-1950s (or earlier, since Josie is likely older than Jonny), which makes the timeline (sort of) fit.

So, there you have it.

Other things to consider:

  • Are Daphne and Josie somehow related?
  • If so, how are they linked?
  • And where does Dexter from Dexter’s Laboratory fit in?
  • Is Mary Worth the spinstery old aunt?

Comments? Questions?

    • Goods one! Maybe Dexter is the older brother of Judy and Linda … hmmm, I’ll have to think about that one!

      Thanks for commenting!

  1. It’s terrible! Linda isn’t Jonny’s daughter!!! Linda’s parents is Clyde Flynn and Betty Jo Flynn! Look at episode ”Get That Bigfoot Outa My Face” (Episode number 17 of season 1)! You Don’t know Flynn family
