Free box find: Bill & Ted

Every Wednesday one of the comic shops in town gives out free (read: old, used and unread) comics. This week, I came across this one: Bill & Ted’s Excellent Comic Book #1, Marvel Comics, Dec. 1991.

The faintly anime smiles on Bill & Ted are creepy enough, and the crazed look of Napoleon as he congas behind Lincoln communicates that he, indeed, has rolled over in his grave.

And was George Carlin’s hair ever that color?

On a more theoretical level, one must ask: Are Bill & Ted the comic forefathers to Wayne & Garth? If so, where does the comedy family tree sprout from there?
