There’s a free, acoustic (though certainly more “electric” than the video version included above) version of the new Moby song “Gone to Sleep.”
The song was written as part of NPR’s Project Song, where artists are brought into the studios, they are shown and get to choose a picture, are shown and get to choose a word, and then given two days to complete a song. Moby finished his in less than a day. But you can read about it (and see a mini-documentary about it) on the NPR website.
Also included, though not for legal download, is Moby’s Tiny Desk Concert set that includes covers of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire,” Lou Reed’s “Take a Walk on the Wild Side” and Neil Young’s “Helpless.” That’s on the NPR link, too.
