Went to see the Oscar-nominated film An Education Sunday with a lot of cool peeps (and a lot of retired folks) at the local indie theatre in town.
I liked it. I really like Nick Hornby, who wrote the screenplay based on the memoir. I hope he wins the Oscar.
I also liked how the filmmakers went so far out of their way to make Olivia Williams as unappealing as possible. However, it isn’t hard to see where they got their inspiration:
I call it “Stop Making Ugly.” But then again, maybe it’s “Same as it ever was …” The likeness is really apparent in the video for “Once in a Lifetime”:
Maybe Williams should win the Oscar for having to dress like that … or maybe David Byrne is just a beautiful man … or, maybe, that’s a little off-topic.
