I can’t help but have a growing sense of dread after watching the Iron Man 2 trailer. Am I the only one?
Don’t get me wrong, I want this movie to be good — no, GREAT, but I just get the feeling that it won’t. First, there’s Garry Shandling playing a politician. I love him as a comedian, loved his HBO show, and all political commentary about politicians are as believable as politicians, it just raises a red flag to me. Name one good Garry Shandling movie. …
Then there’s the part with Don Cheadle getting his own suit. I guess I should brush up on my Iron Man lore, but did that happen? If that’s the case, why didn’t Tony Stark mass produce it in the first place?
The first Iron Man was a delightful film, possibly because it kind of caught people off guard. But now, with expectations raised, everyone expects greatness.
Oh well, I’m ranting. But before I go, let me just leave you with two more reasons to dread:
- Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
- Men in Black II
Should I go on?
Who am I kidding? You know I’ll see it.
