How many do you have?

According to the most recent issue Rolling Stone, here was the top 10 singles from October 25, 1985:

  1. “I Just Called to Say I Love You” by Stevie Wonder
  2. “Carribean Queen (No More Love on the Run)” by Billy Ocean
  3. “Hard Habit to Break” by Chicago
  4. “Purple Rain” by Prince and the Revolution
  5. “Lucky Star” by Madonna
  6. “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” by Wham!
  7. “On the Dark Side” by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band
  8. “Let’s Go Crazy” by Prince and the Revolution
  9. “I’m So Excited” by The Pointer Sisters
  10. “Some Guys Have All the Luck” by Rod Stewart

I checked the trusty iPod and found that there are five of these inside its hard drive: numbers 1, 4, 6, 8, and 10. I was a little surprised that I didn’t have number 7. Has anyone seen that movie (Eddie and the Cruisers) lately? If I remember correctly, it had that whole “If-Jim-Morrison-Were-Alive” vibe to it. And, didn’t they make a sequel? Maybe I’ll check in the old Wal-Mart $5 bin … or not.

Anyway, how many of these songs are in your musical collection? Does does your possession (or lack thereof) surprise you?
