This is scene is one reason:
Classic, even by today’s standards: the screwball dialogue, the homage to Dr. Seuss, the way Maddie slyly breaks the fourth wall by taking the stance of the audience in “How do you do that?”
By today’s standards, this scene may seem passe, When this episode first aired 26 years ago, though, it wasn’t. You could say it helped pave the way to passe.
It’s little gems like this that make television worth it.
